1. Scope of Services

This Refund Policy governs all services on The Law Platform, including Lawyer Consultation Services (per-minute sessions) and Legal Services (fixed-fee: Company Registration, Property Services, Marriage Registration, Loan Services, Trust Registration, Senior Citizen Legal Aid).

2. Consultation Refunds — Eligible

• The assigned advocate failed to join within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time.
• The session was terminated due to a technical fault attributable solely to The Law's Platform.
• The advocate provided materially incorrect, verifiable information.
• A duplicate charge was levied for the same session.

3. Consultation Refunds — NOT Eligible

• The user voluntarily disconnected the session before completion.
• Dissatisfaction with the legal opinion rendered by the advocate.
• Poor internet connectivity or technical issues on the user's end.
• Sessions completed in full, regardless of satisfaction with the outcome.
• Change of mind after the session has commenced.

4. Legal Services Refunds

Pre-Commencement: If you cancel before any work has commenced and before any government fees are incurred, you receive a full refund.

Post-Commencement: Refunds are pro-rata after deducting work completed, government fees already disbursed, and a 10% administrative processing fee.

Service Failure: If The Law cannot complete a service due to reasons attributable to the Platform, a full refund (excluding government fees already paid) is issued within 14 working days.

5. How to Request a Refund

• Email: support@thelaw.in with subject "Refund Request — [Order ID / Session ID]"
• Include registered mobile number, transaction reference, date of service, and reason.
• Attach supporting evidence (screenshots, error messages) where applicable.
• Requests must be submitted within 7 calendar days of the transaction.

6. Processing Time

• In-app wallet credits: Within 2–3 working days.
• Original payment method (UPI, Net Banking, Cards): Within 7–10 working days.

The Law does not levy any additional charges for processing approved refunds.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, registering on, or using the Platform ("www.thelawlegal.in"), you unconditionally accept these Terms and Conditions. These Terms must be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

2. Eligibility

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be a citizen or resident of India, or accessing from within India.
• Must have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.

3. Services

The Law is a technology platform connecting users with independent verified advocates. Advocates are independent professionals — not employees, agents, or partners of The Law. The Law does not practice law and does not provide legal advice. Minimum consultation time is 10 minutes; charges are deducted from the in-app wallet.

4. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Use of the Platform does not establish an attorney-client relationship between you and The Law. Any such relationship is solely between you and the individual advocate, who is bound by Bar Council of India Rules.

5. Fees & Payments

• All fees are in Indian Rupees (INR) inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
• Payments are processed through RBI-authorised payment gateways.
• In-app wallet credits must be used within 6 months from the date of top-up.
• GST and applicable taxes are levied at prevailing rates and reflected in invoices.

6. User Obligations

• Use the Platform only for lawful purposes in compliance with Indian law.
• Do not misuse the Platform to harass, threaten, or intimidate others.
• Do not share false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Do not attempt to reverse-engineer or hack the Platform.
• Treat all advocates with professional respect and courtesy.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Law shall not be liable for the quality or outcome of legal advice provided by advocates. Total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the specific service in the 3 months preceding the claim.

Complaints acknowledged within 24 hours; resolved within 30 days.

9. Dispute Resolution

Disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiations. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, conducted by a sole arbitrator at Gandhinagar, India.
